It was dead easy.

There are 8 nuts on each light to get them off.

1 Plug for the reverse lights

1 plug for the rest of the lights

They fit exactly into the original locations and the plugs match up identically. No fabrication or modification needed.

Took me a few hours but I took my time and washed everything as I was going.

I must say... Mazda did a damn fine job when they designed the S5 tail/blinker lights. they look absolutly amazing when installed, so clean ... and a night.. forgetaboutit lol... good job man.



I'm looking for a pair my self... just can't seem to find any.

wrong. if you will notice, your s5 lights dont fit comletely flush against the back side of the car. this is b/c part of the inner brake lights (the round part that the bulb mounts locks into on the back side) hits agains the square edge of the rear frame for the lights mount.



try to install the lights, and look from the back side and you will see what i'm talking about.



it's an easy fix, all you need is a hacksaw and some pliers / vice grips to bend some metal out of the way. you will have to move about a golfball sized semicircle of material out of the way for the lights be perfectly flush.

i was just going to say that i heard from someone else that there was actualy modification to something but he just covered it but if everything went smoothly for VII then i dont konw

Looks good, but i think ill stick with my S4 tails they do their job fine.

but those S5's look sooo awsome gives it a little more exotic car look at night

When I put them in the appeared to go in fine and were not pressed up against any of the car internal's. In fact the rear componant of the S5 lights including the sockets and bulbs looked smaller than the S4 internals. I checked them out after the install and the looked pretty flush along the back of the car. I'll have a look tonight and take some pics but I didn't notice it rubbing up agaist anything when I installed them.

trust me on this one. the previous owner of my s4 had already put s5 lights on it. i took them out to see why they weren't pushed in all the way, and i noticed a clean circle of white in the dirt on the tail light frame of the body. i cut the metal out around this area, and the then fit up flush. i'll take a pic this weekend when i get a chance.

The reverse lights rub a bit. Although not the best method, I bent the metal a bit with a hammer and screwdriver. You don't have to cut or bend much metal, its just a little bit. The first pic shows where I bent the metal back a bit.
