I just bought a 91 13b turbo II RX7 for $500 and its in very good condition, its only got 91,000 miles and its a 5 speed and i bought it knowing that it didnt run so i brought it home and started working on it and got it to start but it was only running on one rotor so i stopped working on it for the day and went out the next day and tried to start it and it wouldnt start and ive been trying to get it started for about 3 days now and cant,it will sputter and almost start and then not start, its got good compression and i just replaced both ignition coils and and it keeps flodding,im goin to try the ATF trick and try new spark plugs but my problem is its not getting constant spark its very hit and miss.....If anyone has any ideas please help me.

its one one rotor, if you have spark at all 4 plugs and you know you have fuel then i would stop tryin to start the motor and pull it out and rebuild it before you do even more damage to the internals.

Well i mean the car has sat for a long time and im just trying to figure out if it could be something simple to fix on it rather than having to rebuild the whole motor...it definatley keeps flooding so im thinking the apex seals are soaked but im just trying to figure out why its not geting spark.

so you checked the basics right, fuel delivery, spark plugs , wires ect ect and compression correct

my compression is ok not perfect but its ok....its definatley getting fuel and im gonna try to change the spark plugs tomorrow but im gonna do the ATF trick before i change the plugs.

did you say spark comes and goes? i had that problem with a FD and it was a ground. try cleaning them all up.

Ive checked it all out and its all good...i still cant get it to start, the closest ive gotten it to start is it will start and idle up to like 2,500 rpm and then die...My sunroof did leak water into the passenger side floorboard of my car do you think that could have gotten my computer and shorted it out?

Try another ECU, hat could be the issue but it would have to have been a lot of water. it it goes up to 2500 and dies sounds like its not getting signal from the MAF and is cutting the fuel pump. remove the egi fuse, take out the top plugs and listen for the 3 swooshes and compare them to the sound from one rotor to the other they should sound the same. if that is good go from there.

come over we can rewire our fuel pumps together it will be fun
