Ok, well, to save some money..I'm just gonna use the BOMEX kit. I always liked it, but the mouth isn't very large. So my goal is to shave the mouth wider to allow better airflow. The shop that is doing the body work are GREAT w/ fiberglass and can even make kits if you have the $$$, lol. Also...I'm gonna shave the door handles and the remove the side molding peices and fill it in to give it a smoother..more FD appearance, lol. Here's a pic of what the side would look like...let me know your opinions...

My friend did the same thing with his doors. It looks good, but be careful of the spot where the door meets the fender. The stock moulding is a little thinner in that area because if it isn't it may hit the fender.

Yea, I noticed that...I'll be sure to not bang my doors up after the paint job.....

..If all goes to plan, I won't need to use the GTX as my daily driver..I'm thinking about getting either a Mazda B2200 truck or 1st gen as a daily driver, and dump my big $$$ into my new girl, and my 2nd gen....

Hey...where'd your buddy put the door lock? Or did he have power doors..how did he set the doors up to open? My uncle used to build hot rods and he is telling me to put the switch under the car's body...near the frame....I think I'm gonna do that...any suggestions where else to put it though are welcome...

I like to use my car every day, even though I probably shouldn't.

He removed the door handles completely, and just has those poppers pop the doors open. The doors don't need to be locked, because there's no handle to pull. When you install such a system you usually put an emergency release somewhere in the car, just in case the remote doesn't work.

that's gonna look sweet dude.

so if i understand correctly all you will have to do is push a little button on the remote and the doors will pop open. kewlness.

are you going to do the doors your self or have a shop do it. i was thinking about having my door handles shaved but haven't got a price quote or anything.

im doing this very soon too, getting shaved door handles with the door solenoids to "pop" them open. Im not gogin to put a safety release beuc i don't want ppl finding it, if i get stuck o well. IM also going to remove the moldings just not fill them in, i think it looks a lot better that way. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Looks sweet. I am debating on whether to get the bomex kit or the knightsport.

Go with the Bomex, You could buy 5 Bomex kits for the price of the Knightsports kit.

Also, about the shaved handles, make sure you have a good battery, because if it goes dead, you're screwed.
