hey whats up. today i was driving to night school and i looked down at the gas gauge and im running low. So on the way home i park my car infron to bank and get money from the ATM. When i put the car in drive the RPM's are fluctuating like crazy. Between the 350-950 RPMS. and when i let go of the brake slightly the car is like jumping and im like WTF. This happened to me a couple of months ago but i payed no attention until today when it happened again. SO i thought hey maybe shes hungry so i gave her $20 shot of 89 at AMaco and the problem persisted. So i got home and was like **** i hope my car is ok. Later on i go back out to get chinese food (wifey didnt cook) then the cars flucutates again then shuts offf? What is going on.
On a couple of occasions it shut off on me as well but i assumed the cold temperature was the culprit but today was 50 degrees in NyC so what is going on . Can anyone help me? thanks jason |

Check your connections along your fuel system like injector clips and at the pump.Somethings loose somewhere.

yeah thanks im going to look into that. It runs fine then 0nce and while it acts up . Ive been leading to the cuase of a faulty electrical system. Certain electrical parts on my car act up as well ill get it looked at when i put my alarm.
thankz jazer, nycity |
id say TPS. Mine used to go out of adjustment every 8 months or so.

mike but i thought there were no pistons? err, nevermind. |
with the car running reach under the hood and start wiggling and
shaking all the wires to see if you can get your mystery idle problem to show its ugly head. |

Usually a TPS doesnt require adjusting as long as no one has touched it
and its functioning properly. There is actually a cap over it from the factory. Is the cap still on there? Someone could adjust the TPS by accident thinking its the idle adjustment because of its location on the engine it can tend to look like a idle adjustment, that happened when I got the AC charged on the GXL, my mechanic friend who charged it thought he was kicking the idle up a bit when in fact he was adjusting the TPS. The car didnt run right all the time, I adjusted it back and it was fine. I adjusted it by ear and driving the car and turning it off and on, but there is a way to make a device to properly adjust the TPS, someone must know where there is a write up for it somewhere. |
