Anyone using the Mallory HyFire VI-A Ignition?

I'm wondering if it will work on the 13B.

I know the MSD 6A and Crane HI-6 work, but this one is 2/3 the price and if I needed 2 of them (one per coil) I thought it would be a better deal.

are you running the stock coils with the haltech right now?

You know the stock ignition system works great to 400hp or 17psi, right? When i do get upgraded im getting the HKS twinpower unit.

Yes stock coils with the Haltech. I just have a feeling that I need a stronger spark. My inductive timing light won't pick up the spark unless I pull the plug wire off slightly. Many people running Haltechs have to do this. I never had to do that with the stock ECU. I can understand that the wires are shielded and all that, but I just don't think the spark is as strong enough.

With the Turbo I'm going to be adding I want the most powerfull spark I can get.

I'm not sure if you need more because your timing light isnt picking up the spark, but for what it's worth I often was unable to pickup the spark either with the stock ecu and stock ignition, and after I installed magnecor 10mm wires it never picked up spark with the inductive light. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

can't hurt I guess? but might be a waste of money...

Well I was also thinking the MSD which offers multiple spark at low RPM's would help my motor run a little cleaner (I often feel sorry for the people sitting behind me at lights)... They get my eye burning exhaust shot right at them... along with the noise. (Well it's not that loud).

Thanks for the reply...

I wouldn't feel too bad about your exhaust, just think about all the diesels out there and how horrible those things are to be behind. They are loud and can put out a literal smoke screen under hard acceleration.

I feel sorry for the cars behind you though.
