Well since nobody knows what i'm talking about here is an update. I crashed my 86 n/a (my poor baby) Some ass in a jag pulled out of a bussiness driveway and cut me off https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif and made me run into a transformer. But thats another story. I found an 87 in good shape that i'm swapping my motor into (The 87 has cooling problems so the internals are all rusted because the guy just kept adding water) I replaced the clutch master cylinder on it because it was leaking and now all i have to do is pull that motor out and put mine in https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif simple enough right? I'm going to try and have it done by the end of the holidays and would really like to have a San Diego meet if anyone is up to it

Im not sure but, I think in either 87 or 88 mazda switched to high impedence injectors. You may want to look into that.

easy way to check it by going to the exhaust manifold's side of the engine and looking if the fuel injectors have the tab in the middle(low-impedance) or off-center(high).

If it was an 88, then 90% it will be off-center.
