So, I finished up assembling things tonight and decided wtf, lets install the motor.

a few hours later with frozen hands and feet, wife and myself had the motor sitting nicely in it's new home :yum:

I took some pics, will post them in the near future as soon as I can download them.

Might have her running tomorrow, hoping for ~240HP @ the flywheel on this street ported NA.

@ 2400lbs or so, this car will run mid 13's with some luck, if all goes well. Not too shabby for an NA.

240 is based on what I've read and the guy I talk to over @ mazdatrix (henry) where I ordered most the stuff.

I like NA, it's so much cleaner under the hood

but if I can't break into 13's with this setup, a nice ball bearing turbo is going in with an E11 and FMIC for some high compression boosted fun.

Sweet! You and your wife, ahah! Thats gotta be sweet to have a wife that is willing to do that. 240hp n/a :bigok: I wouldn't mind getting another n/a--- carbed streetport etc for a nice dd, I might be boosting an n/a with one of my friends too, hopefully.

Congrats man...240HP is very reasonable with a well tuned SP NA motor...lets see the timeslips!

No turbo, no intercooler, no intercooler plumbing, no waste gate, no bov, no pov... it's simpler

don't get me wrong, turbos are cool... but most the people I have talked to about road racing prefer a powerful NA, if you watch those best motoring videos they say NA is more fun I think it's just more predictable and linear, people often have trouble getting into boost in turns and going sideways due to the power jump. but this topic can be argued endlessly, regardless, there's less junk with an NA, lighter and cleaner but less power too!

I do miss the linear feel of my na engine, it was great and preditable when steping on the gas on a turn.

I should have pics downloaded tomorrow when I get to work...

I just pulled the fiero out of the garage (first time in like 2 years?) cleaned up and pushed the rx-7 in to finish up everything, have to install the aluminum radiator and intakes, new fuel filter and lines, figure out the vacuum line elimination, install header etc.

vosko: I've seen some really clean turbo setups, theres a guy on evilforum that has an amazingly clean engine bay with no bullshit on his red FC, but my NA will not have PS, AC, or emissions junk... but since I'm still using the stock ECU for now I will still have the AFM and some junk, but it's minimal.... it also has an electric fan, the engine looks lonely in the engine bay. Maybe it needs a turbo to keep it's company :smirk:

pulling the fiero out and seeing it in the sunlight reminded me of how mean it looks with those 17x8 konig villains on A520's w/12" rotors :yum: I really have to finish that car.

cheers all, break time over.
