i was wondering if anyone has ever welded it back together after it broke? there is some rubber in there but metal as well. i was thinking of getting rid of some fo the rubber and welding in some metal plateds between the two to make a solif mount. any ideas??

People have done that, I am thinking about making my own complete solid front diff mount at the shop.. There will probably be a lot more vibration.

and it will break the subframe too

someone should make a solid diff mount that has a roller bearing on it, so the camber link can still be adjustable. Would require an axle added to the diff mount and a beefy ass bearing, it will transfer more vibrations also, but won't break things.

What I have been doing is take some kind of bumpstop, say for the rearend of a pickup truck, some common thing available at autozone or the like. Drill through the chassis below the rear bins/seats right where there is a round fitting in the chassis. Bolt this bumpstop to the chassis from up top. You may need to trim the piece depending on what you use. With the diff installed, the stop should sit just a little bit off of it, say 1/8". When the diff mount flexes, from torque from the driveshaft, the diff moves upward. Quickly, it will encouter this bumpstop, which will NOT compress any further, and the flex will be controlled, saving the side mount and subframe. Since the diff doesnt ride on the extra mount all the time, there is no excessive vibration.

thanxs i was thinking/hoping for something along hat line to hlep take the stress off of the subframe.
