Can the diff from a gen 1 Miata fit into a S4 rx? if so that would be super cause I have a 4.30:1 LSD viscous type diff from a Miata that I would really like to use! and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't some 2nd gen rx's come with LSD? If so Where can I find one? thanks for reading. Jack.

GXLs and TIIs have lsds. The GTU s has 4.30 gears and an lsd.

RX7.com has 4.30s for sale for both TII and N/A differentials.

the rear differential from the miata is about the size of a grapefruit tho. Even a modified n/a would probably put it at it's limits.

I belive that some of the Miata LSD units wil swap, but the Ring & Pinion will not swap since the miata uses a short pinion like the 1st gen rx7. But the Torsen Miata LSD is very easy to put in a N/A.

i don't think the miata unit could hold the power of an rx7, espically not a turbo. and not a chance once you start to modify it.

the 90-93 miata unit is too small, but the 94-current will pop right in. the only difference is that the miata is a short pinion, so you either have to convert to short pinion (and make a tranny mount) or make the miata pinion longer and put the miata guts in the fc case
