I was removing all the stuff from my gxl motor (water pump, MOP, egr, etc..) preparing to rebuild, when I found the shaft in the front cover which drives the MOP. I'm going to be removing my oil injectors and the MOP and would like to remove this shaft from the front cover. It looks like it's driven by the eccentric shaft (CAS drive gear?) but I'm not sure, anyone know what the procedure is for eliminating this shaft, if it's possible, any caveats? I tried just sliding it out of the housing and it came out about 1 inch or so before getting hung up on something.
thanks. (if it's obvious after the front cover is off, don't flame me, I havent removed the front cover yet https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR ) |
Just leave it there and make a block off plate.

I've never actually looked at it much, but I think there's probably more crap behind it. Why would you even want to remove it? I just blocked mine off, and it worked fine. |
