its an S4 TII block, at the bottom of the oil filler neck, front side, ther is a bolt type sensor w/ a small wire coming out of it.

What is this sensor for? And what is it screwing into? I cant see up the hole very well, its too close to the block.

THanks

Thats a knock sensor but I didnt this S4's had them...Is it even screwed into anything? Or plugged into anything?

Sorry. I was wrong. They do have knock sensors. Just looked it up in the FSM.

But anyways, yeah...Thats your knock sensor. Just a glorified microphone that pulls timing when it hears something that sounds like knock.

The hole doesnt go anywhere. Its just a little place drilled and threaded in that iron. No need to plug it with anything.

However, Im not sure what ( if any ) difference the S4 cars make when they dont see a knock sensor. I think S5 cars retard timing 5 degrees...Could be wrong though.

Ive been Haltech powered for a while now so I dont know much about the stock ECU.
