So i got my abs elimination kit from mazdatrix today. Well it turns out to be a foot long hose with some fittings on the end and a little block thats basically a t-fitting. This looks like it should be a great deal of fun figuring out. Or maybe it will be plenty easy and im just a whiny bitch. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

wut advantages/disadvantages does removing the abs have?

Blink 02-28-2003 01:02 PM

The advantage I see is more room in the engine bay. Basically over the turbo & the LIM/UIM to allow easy access to adjusting things. I think mine has gone off once while testing to see if it works.

the FC abs is actually pretty damn good. Its not overly sensitive. But if its leaking, your pretty much screwed. I recommend most people keep it unless its leaking badly.

vosko 02-28-2003 01:18 PM

yeah if it leaks remove it otherwise keep it. mine didn't leak but ABS light was always on and it didn't work https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

mine was leaking like mad. its sort of stopped now so im not going to mess with it until it starts pissing fluid again. i paid 36 for it shipped, not too bad. i love the guys at madzatrix.. always a pleasure.

thanks for that writeup link, that should be most helpful https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

lol elimination abs kits an how much

evilT2 02-28-2003 04:49 PM

call up mazdatrix. they will be able to tell you if its available for the fd and how much it will run you. couldnt be much more (if any) than the fc version.

Jerk_Racer 02-28-2003 06:54 PM

I sure can't find that kit for the FC on their site. My ABS has been dead for ages. That kit would make my life easier to take that stuff from out of under the hood.

Blink 02-28-2003 07:22 PM

same here i'm guessing it's a pick up the phone to order part. I agree on how nice it'd be to get that out from under the hood.. those bolts for the down pipe would be so easy to get at https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
