hey guys, first of all its nice to be back to np. you dont have to tell me how much you missed me bc i know everyone did and that would just take up to much time and space.
as i searched for threads in 2nd gen about auto to manual swaps i noticed that over the years ive made about 1,342,349,099 of them but this should be one of the last ones bc im picking up the parts on saturday to do the swap and while i know i will have a lot of questions i will try to keep them all in this thread. ok now on to my question at the moment how will i get the flywheel onto the auto e-shaft? will it bolt right on? actually im thinking i may take the car to a shop to have the flywheel/clutch done so really what i should be asking is how should i tell the guys at the shop to put the flywheel on. thanks for the help (especially banzai, hint hint i know youve done this swap) and good luck to me |
Where did you go? How long were you gone for, lol?? It's ok..I come & go too...
|
flywhizzle goes right on, but you can get an aftermarket flywheel, and you already have the counterwieght, so you dont have to buy it!
|
dont forget to install a pilot bearing!!!!
|
im planning on just using the stock flywheel, hopefully it will be in good enough shape to use from the parts car. is the pilot bearing something that i will be able to re use?
is there anything special i will have to tell the shop that does the work? will they even be able to tell that this was not a manual car if i have installed everything but the flywheel, clutch, tranny, and driveshaft? id really rather not say anything about a manual swap bc i asked a few shops a while back about the swap and they were very turned off by the idea, especially since its a rotary and everyone is afraid of them. |
hey does anywhere know where i can get the manual section of the fsm? when i DLed it before i didnt get the manual trans section bc i didnt have a manual. i tried 1300cc.com and iluvmyrx7.com but couldnt find them.

the auto E-Shaft wont have a pilot bearing installed in it, You need it and the ppilot bearing seal. DO NOT use a USED throw out bearing either, in fact get the TII Throw out bearing. Mike? Part numbers please

hey it looks like the TO is the same for NA and turbo, is that not the case? the part numbers on Mtrix are the same.

F853-16-510 Throwout bearing
Its not worth the $25 bux or so to reuse a pilot bearing and seal IF you were even able to remove it intact |
