Well i got word from a friend that there is a nice 2nd gen for sale. I looked at it tonight and it looked nice on the outside. I am going back some time this week with a member from this fourm (RX7man629). I love how his car pulls so i can't wait and hopefully i can get this RX. Right now i drive an acura integra so it will feel great compaired to honda's low torque engines. What kind of MPG should i expect from the S4 motor? What things should i look out for? Any info would be great along with anything else you guys/girls think would be imortant for me to know before hand. Thanks, Jon

Is it a turbo?

I had a s4 a couple of years back and the engine was unmodified, it was pretty good on gas. But as soon as you some mods (turbo, exhaust etc) you need deep pockets for your gas bill.

But if you love your rotary engines it's really a small price to pay : )

it is non-turbo. I do not plan on doing many mods. Just the normal intake header and exhaust. How good was it on gas? i get 34 MPG highway now with my integra so what should i expect? I used to have a Jeep CJ with a 302 V-8 so as long as it gets better gas mileage than that i will be more than happy with it.

You will get about the same as that Jeep

Don't look for good gas mileage. If you get low-to-mid 20's, that's about right. Also, rotaries aren't exactly torque-monsters. They're all about a nice smooth, strong top end.



Even so, an FC in good shape is a pleasure to drive, IMO.

low 20's is good compaired to the jeep. It would get around 17 MPG highway. I have done some research and was told that is why they rev so high. Oh and i have a question about the S4 motor compaired to the S5. I know the S5 has a 8,000 RPM red line and the S4 has a 7K redline because of heavyer rotor's but what else is different? Also would an 87 auto's starter work on a 87 manuals? I know some are different on other cars but not sure. Thanks, Jon
