I have a major problem with it. :frown: Also ask them how much oil it goes through, coolant, ect. If they say it doesn't use any oil I'd walk away, all 7s burn oil. Like 13BAce said check the top motors, make sure they are good and strong. I have to help my top come up. :frown: That's about all I can think of right now.

Why do you have to help your top up?
My motors are very tired. :frown: Mazda dealership wanted $3000 for the pair of motors. Plus another $1000 to put them in. I asked them if I get a whole new vert with the motors. Then I found a pair for $200, just have not ordered them.
Used sets can always be found. You just need to be patient.

My motors are very tired.<<< Did you try cleaning the connections at the motors? There may be some corrosion from all the moisture?

The motors work, they just don't have the power to lift my top up. They do fine the last 2/3s of the way (when putting the top up), it's just the first 1/3 they have trouble with. Plus I don't like riding in my car with the top all the way down because my car is so damn loud. I normaly just roll with the targa top off. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif Not as windy either, but you still get the sun. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

A boot is a plus, but no one ever uses them, lol.

I always use mine. I either run top down with the boot, or targa 99% of the time. I think the boot makes the car look alot better/ more refined. I'd say people that don't use them are missing it, or it is too damaged.

Well, thanks for all the great advice, but I guess I won't be joining the ranks of RX7 owners because I DON'T FIT. I really liked the car, it was in good shape, good looking, engine sounded healthy, etc. Then I put the top up and realized that my head was banging on it, even with the seat all the way tilted back. Jeez, I'm only 6'2"! Oh well, guess I'll be stuck with something like a Celica, BMW or Saab convertible. Blech.

When I first got a convertible it felt pretty tight inside. I think that the roof is lower than that in a coupe.

Dude, how don't you fit? I'm 6'3" 220 lbs, and I fit fine in my vert. You bigger than me?

Maybe he has short legs. :sigh:

If that is the only reason I would look into having the seat reworked to sit a little lower, there is not a better car than an RX...... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
