After a fertilizer company trying to kill us with overexposure, and countless hours in a lawsuit against the county police and their indiscretions, I have found the time to assemble some of the new **** to my 89 rag project. Hopefully now I can stay on this till it's finished, anyways here's some pics of the car...

I was all lined up to buy a slightly abused fd chassis, as a second project, but as earlier stated the **** hit the fan and it didn't happen, which turned out to be a better thing anyway. I like the FC chassis, and with all I have learned on this project I would like to stay with the FC and learn alot more on a turbo set-up. As for this project, I may opt to put an atkins sc on it if it's power is too weak to say, "merge on the freeway", but all things considered it should do just fine buzzin down the 101 to sevenstock in the fall. |
Every consider a little nitrous? That could add some " bling " to the car also..

https://www.nopistons.com/gallery/al...-R1-033-15.jpg But I want to put some road time on the car and get a feel for it first. It has lots of hours on it (engine) but 0 miles.. The rims are wrapped in mismatched tires that won't hold air (so I could push it from here to there) so I haven't gotten to drive it yet!?!? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif The wheel and tires, as well as the new top, are a few weeks away so i should be able to button everything else up and have a runner by late spring, then I can think on MO POWER, lol. |

Very nice indeed. I ditto the nice looking paint and body. Was the car originally black or was the engine bay resprayed? If repainted, is it a flat or gloss black?
Sidebar: Whenever a fertilizer or lawn maintainance company solicits me for their business I always ask them for a list of every single chemical they use. For some reason they never get back with me? :] |

Sidebar: Whenever a fertilizer or lawn maintainance company solicits me for their business I always ask them for a list of every single chemical they use. For some reason they never get back with me? :] The paint co. wanted waaaay too much loot to do the engine compartment, so I had them just mask it off so I could do it myself. I found an overstock w/ one of my paint suppliers of what some would call an acrylic lacquer, I know acrylic lacquer wtf, but the stuff works so well, high gloss, quick dry and touch-up is virtually invisible. It's a pre voc product which is not only unavailable, but totally illegal. It was alot of work, and some of it had to be manipulated for the heat issues (exhaust and the like) but the results, I think, speak for themselves. Now time as they say will tell on the durability issues. in reference to the sidebar, (not yelling @ you) FERTILIZER COMPANIES AND THE PPL WHO APPLICATE IT CAN KISS MY ENTIRE ASS, IF THE BASTARD WHO DID IT READS, THIS I'M GOING TO OWN YOUR KIDS' KIDS'' ASSES BIIIITCH!!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |

The spoiler, as I have said before, was a giant pain in the ass and would have never happened had I known all of the bullshit problems with mounting, sealing, shaping, and painting involved, however it's there now and will remain until its knocked off or blown up. |
yea i would agree that the level of pimp would only rise with the oem tails and spoiler... sorry dude u cant be the alpha pimp
|
its lookin good man. i wish mine looked that good, and blaze red is oem, thats what i have. i need to get all of the little dings taken out of mine. i think its gonna cost a fortune though.
|
hey i was lookin at the pics again and dont forget to get that black piece that goes under the front lip of the bumper. that will save you some some trouble after being in parking lots. also for a more stock look you should paint the front grill flat black. whats the total for the whole project up to now?

The cost is approaching 20,000 which includes the price of the car used. It would have been more if I hadn't done as much. How's your car running? good I hope |
glad to see you back on, looks really nice, I so badly want
to redo my seats, I keep putting it off every year then once the summer comes I wont lay the car up with no seats, lol. I think you get the tailight and wing comments everytime you post pics. |

The seats were so easy, I just stripped them off the frame and sent them out to use as patterns for the new ones. I got a great deal on the material and stayed under 700, not counting my time, (what ever thats worth)to recover the seats and install. And yeah the taillight, rear spoiler saga continues. It's all good though, I didn't spend much time contemplating how I could make my car look like everyone else's. I understand the desire for some not wanting to fall under a label that catagorizes a style, but I really don't care about all that. One idea seems to spawn 10 other ideas which allows things to progress/evolve which is a much better concept in my opinion, Just wait until I unveil the schoolbus yellow turbo 7 front end melded with the 75 repu back end, that should make ppl pull their hair out in clumps!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |
