I was just wondering where the oil pressure regulator is located in my car and if I could change it without taking the motor apart. I want to use the Racing Beat 80 psi street version. Is this possible?

its in the bottom of the rear iron housing, it would require you to pull the oil pan to change

Is this a mod that is worth doing by itself or do you really need to do things like upgrade jets, etc to get the most out of it?

If I'm correct just adding the new regulator should increase the pressure without any other modifications.

I guess I'll buy an oil pan baffle to go with it.

Anybody got any pics of where to look.

and this is good because of?

More pressure equals faster flow and more flow at higher rpms when it's needed most.

Even without rejetting or modifying the remainder fo your oiling system?

Yes or atleast that's what I'm told by the Racing Beat rep.

FrestyleFC3S 01-27-2004 12:14 PM

how much do they cost?

i should prolly get one.... weber oil jets in the eshaft, thermal pellet mod....

isnt the regulator behind the front cover....i dont wanna mess with that .. i just put her back together!!

BigTurbo74 01-27-2004 02:10 PM

it's 90 bucks, if you do any of those mods fre you should do the pellet at least. there is a front and rear regulator, one is on the front cover and other is on back iron.

oh ... the jets and the pellet mod is done already

and the baffle is in my closet..it needs to go on next time i take off the oil pan

FrestyleFC3S 01-27-2004 02:53 PM

also i was thinking maybe just an FD one...theyre a little better

i think the turbo II opr are like 60-70...right? thats a little low

BigTurbo74 01-27-2004 03:10 PM

well technically you don't really need to upgrade unless you are revving sky high or have a ton of hp. but if you do get one you might as well get fd stationary gears as well,,,

7mech 01-27-2004 11:11 PM

You can get to it by just removing the oil pan. The picture is just a little misleading.
