they usually leak really slowly and get that 1-2" buildup

What about the oil metering pump?
|
it could be that too, its a little more to the side though

I dont know excatly where its coming from but its that area
|
sometimes its hard to tell, the fan usually blows oil everwhere
|
could also be the bottom of the front cover, at the junction of front cover and oil pan. Especially if the pan has been off and reinstalled with the motor in the car, these bolts often don't get torqued right or the surfaces cleaned before reinstallation because the steering rack/crossmember close proximity.

Anything else there could be? Im going to order the o ring for the omp. I guess if that doesnt work ill try the e shaft seal. And last pengaru's suggestion if nothing else works.

thats pretty much it, it could be the front cover gasket but thats kinda rare

I've had this same problem. I'm still not positive where its coming from but I have all the o rings and gaskets for when I pull the front cover.
Something I noticed now that I have so much removed is when I shine a flashlight under the alternator to see in toward the top of the front cover, I can see some oil. This is looking in from the pass. side fender. Mine leaks slowly down to where it looks like its coming from behind the OMP but its not the OMP in my case. I think it is squeezing oil out somewhere around the front cover gasket. I'm going to take a pic this weekend and post it for once. |
