you can get a Delco/GM type alternator from Nathan Peddicord at www.excessiveamoerage.com. I got one and the damn thing is bad ass on top of the fact it is 200 AMPS... very easy to instal wiht a small amount of modification. I can tell you how to do it !!

your car is wired incorrectly, its quite simple, the alternator sees 0V when the car is off and the regulator tries to charge the battery, thus draining the battery. This load is about 1A, hopefully your regulator isn't fried and you can still correct this problem. I can say for a fact that until i figured this one out on my own, 100% of everything i read online about how to do the wiring was WRONG. Please read as EVERY ONLINE WRITEUP IS WRONG.

I have contributed to this site and they now have it correct

http://www.rx7.org/

Reading the this and the other page. Does the White/blue wire need to be connected to a live 12v wire or switched 12v wire??

Here is the writeup:

IT'S 100% CORRECT

I use the S6 alt. on my 10th AE. I drooped the lame ass v-belts in favor of the 13B-RE main and water pump pulleys (powder coated = ) They allowed me to use the stock s6 alt pulley.

The wiring is straight forward and no relay is needed. The relay way is Mickey Mouse BS! The shaft on the S6 alt is not only thicker, but shorter (I think MD already said that though) I picked up a 5 ridge (I think it is) belt from Auto-zone. It's a special order item if I remember right.

I went round about, back when I 1st did mine. Lots of wrong info floating around and as a result, fried a brand new alt.

Real quick, if it's done right, no relay is needed or draining the batt. The cosmo pulleys fit kick ass and match up with the stock S6 pulley like a champ. It's pulley is small but needs to be that way to get the most of the alt. Anything larger, will defeat the what where're trying to accomplish here.......13.6 volts @ idle with all the lights on, heater blowing and the big system pounding!! Hell yeah = )

If you like, I get check the the part # of the belt and what wires go where. I'd post a pic but not sure how to on this board.

I think that S6 alternator is more trouble than it is worth. BTW if you got a real FD alternator from a FD wreck or ordered a FD alternator from the dealership like what I did. Those Higgi Alternator pullies don't work on a real FD alternator. They only work on the alternators taht silverrotor sells, so I have no idea what kinda of alternators those are. The pulley seat is too shallow to properly butt up against the bearing that supports the front of the pulley shaft, so if you torque down the higgi pulley on a real FD alternator, the pulley bottoms out on teh alternator casing and prevents the shaft or pulley from spining. I had to take a banzai FC dual alternator pulley, bore it out on a lathe, then make my own shim/spacer similiar to what a FC alternator has.

What a mess, should've just gotten another S5 alternator. BTW the belts are on there really really tight if you use the stock sized belt. So tight I could barely get them on. I tried going one size over, but that is too lose and causes the alternator to sit too high have all the tension loads supported by this little alternator bracket which flexes when the engine revs up and down and the belt slips off.

i'm running the stock FD pulley with cosmo main and waterpump pulleys also. I think i was the first one to do that, anyway, i've got an FD waterpump i'm going to try with the setup. Also have greddy pulleys for that and the FD alt, are you saying that the greddy pulley might not fit because i got my alt from silver rotor? or is that only in reference to the higgi Vbelt pulley? for the tension issue, try using and FD alt tensioner, i just got one.

I can't say enough good things about my set-up. It's bullet proof. The S5 alt doesn't have **** on it.

I tested my second, new S6 alt before I put it on & it's putting out 130 amps!

No slipping belts or back dust all over the place. When I was changing the oil the other day, I tugged the belt because I haven't check it in 8000 miles. It had stretched some & had about 1" of play on the drivers side. Nothing odd there but, I wouldn't of known the slack was there if I didn't give it a pull. Even with that much play and my HP, the fucker was still going without a problem!

I like it when stuff just works https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

himni- does the use of those pulleys allow for the stock fan and shroud to be used? I would assume so?

now the trick is to locate a set of those pulleys!

Just passing by and couldn't help but notice Cheers! post.

Real FD Alternator? You have been spouting this a few times now but now I got to speak up and cramp up your style. You may have got your Impression of this

due to the front casting/lip/ being slightly trimmed to accomadate the modified Pulley. This Is done to the few different types of Pullies we receive. Even for your I'll disputed claims, hIGGI has sold more than 20 FD Alternator Pullies. Some to owners whom I don't even know. Results? The Pulley went In as It was supposed to. Futher and finally I have sold several FD Alternators to FD owners. What do you think I am going to say now? All went well.

You have to seperate our past bout (where I made an example of you In the Canadian Forum on rx7club and In the same thread you foolishly call the owner a rip off ) with reality. Get of the space machine and get laid, seriously.

are higgi and himni the same people?
