I'm still not sure where it is. But i took the whole UIM/TB off and i know a few places it isnt now. Here they are.

It's a little bit wet right to the right of the white clip on that part of the wiring harnses.

I missed with the light on the puddle but if you follow the flashlight down and to the right you can see a tiny white dot in the middle of the big black area. That's where part of the puddle is. The puddle however isnt just in that spot. It goes horizontally completely along where the LIM meets the engine. All the way to the front part of the engine.

Any idea as to where it might be coming from?

pengaru 11-26-2003 12:43 PM

is it coolant?

if so, my guess is the O rings between the LIM and the engine for the turbo's coolant passages. Mine had coolant in exactly the same place due to my freeze plugs leaking in those ports before I tapped and plugged them... mazdatrix had recommended the freeze plugs, bad idea.

Quick question, on the TB, what nipple does this plug into, from top to bottom, 1 2 3 or 4.

That lil nipple, i couldnt find anywhere what it does so i figured it wasnt important. Anyways yes pengaru it is coolant. But notice the nipple has a bunch of white crap around it. Could that be it?

pengaru 11-26-2003 01:23 PM

yes it could be it, but it looked capped in the pictures so i figured it was taken care of.

thats a coolant nipple on the rear housing normally used to provide coolant for the BACV and thermowax on the throttle body.

if you have a coolant system pressure tester crank it up to around 15psi and watch, you'll find the leak.

I would also agree that it would be likey the nipple on the rear of the motor, the host to the TB might have busted or is just worn and leaking..I have a quick question...while we're talking TBs and Coolant. What happens if you cap the nipple and slap your TB on your car without doing the TB mod? Just with no source of coolant?

It was like a coolant waterfall in bigturbo74's engine bay, good times https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I fixed the cap. That was where it was leaking, the cap was all cracked and had a small tear in it.

Anyways where does the vacuum hose in the second to last picture go? What nipple? I can't find any vacuum diagrams in the manual.
