Well here is the situation. A month ago I installed a Jacobs ignition. A week after I put it in the car started running like poop. It had jerky acceleration and was just slow and not running right. I thought it was a fuel system problem so I changed my fuel filter and fuel pump which were old anyways. Nope. I have new spark plugs too. The car doesn't bog as much after I changed the fuel pump but it is still there. I'm not sure what could be the problem. My brother doesn't think that its the ignition booster but I have my doubts. The engine is around three years old and was professionaly installed. All my vacume hoses are connected. I am wondering if anyone might have any ideas for what is wrong. Thanks.

Another thought is that it might be a ignition coil going bad. Is there any way to check if it is good or bad or what are the signs that it is going bad? Thanks

look in the FSM there are resistance values for the coils that you can test with a DVOM. check all the connections closely, i think it gets a connection from the CAS, make sure that one is in very good condition as the CAS is very sensitive. (i THINK it gets a connection from the CAS installing an ign. box is one thing i havent tried yet, will be doing 2 MSD's soon on the T2 tho)

no the jacobs box does not connect to the cas, it only is supost to connect to the leading coil/ignitor.

now after your wiring check do a compression check to the motor. kinda sounds like your motor went south on ya.

I hope its not the motor. I'll do the checks. Thanks.

allright. I did a compression check. Front rotar, 115 all three, rear rotar, 120 all three. The motor is good. I checked the readings on the coils and they read within parameters. Is there anyway to check my fuel injectors. I put injector cleaner in a couple of weeks ago and that didn't help. Any other thoughts. Thanks.

pull out the jacobs, and see what it does

yea id suggest removing the jacobs completely and see if you still have the problem, its the easiest way to troubleshoot.

well that was the best thing to do. The jacobs was the cause of it all. I didn't remove it sooner because I ruled it out because it was working for a week before the problem started. The unit I bought was used. The car runs good again. Now on to see if I can get a new one somehow via trade in or what not. Thanks for you help guys.
