Does any one run KYB Illuminas on formerly adjustable suspension models?



I am looking for suspension components but everything says EXCLUDING AUTO ADJUSTING SUSPENSION. I don't care to lose the AAS I just want the freaking shocks/struts to match up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I don't believe there's any difference in the top plates, but not sure. I'm sure someone here has scrapped the AAS and went with aftermarket shocks.

The AAS actuator is held on by two bolts. Remove the nuts, unplug the electrical connector, and remove the actuator. After that, the struts and springs will come off just like the non-AAS parts. The rear shocks work the exact same way. The actuator bracket is held in place by the center nut on top of either the strut or the shock. Once the AAS equipment has been removed, the new parts can be installed.

Thanks man! I just ordered the KYB AGX all the way around.

I wonder if you can modify the AAS to work with aftermarket shocks..

maybe, dunno if its worth it

The beauty of the Mazda system is that it was active, versus passive. There are less sophisticated electronic dampening units on the market. The aftermarket AAS dampers are expensive, but the control boxes are comparatively cheap ($400). Does anyone know if any aftermarket AAS struts/shocks are rebuildable?
