Yo whats up..my car when i depress the brakes makes a clinking clunking noise when i have the pedal pushed down. the car stops and what not but the noise really makes it sound like my car is braking down. on top of that the brakes sweeeeeak.. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR, but i checked the pads and they still got meat on them so whats wrong. My car is giving me so much headaches lately but i still love her and Will never sell her!!.

Is it the Brake lines or waht??

thanks Jason RX7

Just make sure everything is tight, dont want a caliper falling off. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

Maybe a pin got bent or something.

Sometimes they will clunk when the pads start sticking in the hardware, my wifes honda accord is doing this right now. FL car, first winter it goes through in IL and it's already sounding like ****... right when you get on the brakes you hear clunk from drivers side and shortly after another clunk on the passenger side. It's the pads shifting in the hardware from one extreme to the other, just needs to be taking apart, cleaned up, and lubricated (anti-seize). The springs in the hardware could also be broken. (sometimes the hardware is missing altogether if an unexperienced person worked on the brakes and left it out)

your shims are shot, try to locate some teflon shims, the steel ones suck.

And use synthetic grease on the back of the pads not anti-squeal.

i'm guessing that you are talking about the shims on the back of the pads, since i'm the one that is probably going to have to fix his car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Order up new hardware and teflon shims, shouldnt cost more then $20-$30 or so.
