I am about to buy being the body of an '88 midnight blue Turbo II and a 91' S5 J-Spec Turbo II motor with only 35k on it. The car already has Racing Beat dual-exhaust installed.

My questions are..

What's the stock boost on the J-Spec motor? What's the highest boost I can push safely? Is there any way to turn up or down the boost without a boost controller?

What's the first thing I need to buy? Boost contoller? AFC? Fuel-Cut Defenser? Blow-Off Valve? Boost Gauge? Walboro 255 Fuel-Pump?

(I think my brother has a spare Walboro 255 from his SR20DET...)

What are the advantages/disadvantages of the S4 body?

ANY tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think stock boost is 8 donno for sure though wouldn't want someone saying im lying again. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

First things you should get...

FCD

boost guage

boost controller

If your bro has a spare walboro 255 fuel pump take advantage and get it off him.The S4 body is like 200lbs less than an S5 body. The advantage of a S5 motor is they have 14hp more (ain't ****) and the disadvantage would be the electrical system.

Good luck

Stock boost on an s5 t2 is 8.5 I believe; Its somewhere real close to 8.

Stock fuel limit is near 235-240rwhp. Intercooler upgrade is recommend beyond 12psi.

You can only turn boost up with a boost controller. You need to port the wastegate if you want to turn boost down, or have the abilty to control lower boost levels.

Walrbo 255lph is a great pump, good for 500flywheel hp. Slap it in.

Advantage of an s4 body are replaceable front ball joings, 200#s less vs s5.

Advantages of an s5 t2 motor, can handla lot more power than s4 motors; Front and Rear irons are reinforced. S5 rotors are lighter and higher compression; more power and safer to rev higher. Stock rev limiter is set at 8k vs 7k I beleive.

Suggestions? Standalone ems right now...

all the t2's have a 7k redline, due to the turbo not making any power up anywhere near that high
