well i finally got the RE motor into the fc tonight with little trouble but i do have some conserns with the mounts that im going to take up again with builder of the mounts. but let me know what you think. also have added an old motor shot as a before and well now current.

i hope to have it runnin by 2 weeks time, im waiting on the kg rails and a set of coils from micro tech then i still have to wire up the new wolf 4.0 hahah ya i got alot to do yet but i hope to start breakin it in before i boost. hopin on 550 plus at the wheels, the motor is built good for it, hell the apex seals im runnin have been tested at 43 psi consistant with out failure.

lol the turbo , well to make a rather long story short it started life as a garrett t64 and i had majestic make it to what it is now a garrett/holset t64 1.00a/r hot side and a holset hx51 cold side full bearing. kinda cool ey. anyways spool is at 3200 rpm and responce is quite well and the ****** pull is top notch. and i am in mn now and then also.

a few more shots, note no more coils on the body of the car, i got plans for 4 coils to go in but waiting on them to get here and will be motor mounted so the engine bay will be much cleaner . also wow with the wireing hahaha. and yes there is alot more to do before i call it finished.

boost, well 18psi on 93 octain and may go more if i run c16. but untill the motor is broken in i wont boost at all the rev limit will be set to 5k and straight waist gate spring presure wich is 12 pound spring.

well work load is out of this world right now at the shop so i come home rather tired so there hasnt been much progress but i have started wiring up the wolf and the bat cables so here is some pics, note how the wolf harness is sorta hidden , when looking at the fire wall with out bending over you really cannot see it.

so im bored right now and am waiting on a few parts ie kg fuel rails and the 4 coils so i can finish the wiring. so i feel like listing what has been done to this car in the past 7 years of me owning it. so here it goes and lets see what i have forgotten about along the way. and ill try to list in order.
1) stock 89 gxl with all options but leather **** even had a block heater and bat heater. 2)hks 60mm cat back 3)hks mega flow mushroom filter. 4)magnacor r100 10mm wires. 5)raceingbeat header and presilencer. 6)mazdatrix light steal flywheel. also centerforce dualfriction clutch WICH SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!!! 7)mazdatrix triagulated stut bar with toqure brace. 8)konig 17x8 tantrums with avs intermidiate tires from yokahama. 9)autometer 5 inch monster tach with shift light and memory. removed that same tach 1 mounth later 10) unorthadox underdrive crank pully. 11)jacobs rotary pro pac 12)autometer ultra light gauges, oil pres, oil temp, fuel pres, a/r. 13)255lph fuel pump from holley in tank. 14) cross drilled rotors frount and rear 15) ichaban stearing wheel and momo hub 16) 50 shot dry n.o.s. 17)eibach pro kit springs 18)70 shot dry then let a freind drive and back fired the n2o and lets say he is no longer a freind and now a sworn enemy! 19) ordered a gagel of parts for the now not running properly due to a bent throttle blade n fucked up maf from the backfire .so im just goin to list by number cause they all where ordered at the same time. 20)jdm 13bt from a 1990 gtx with trans. 21)drive shaft for a t2 22)rear end for a t2 with axles and a trd race lsd, traded my na motor for the set up and had to asemble the diff. 23)turbo xs type h bov 24)turbo xs high perf boost controler. 25)mazda comp hard motor mounts and trans mount. 26)razo carbon shift knob , for the bling hahaha 27)wolf 3d 3.0 28)gasket kit and resealed the engine and trans. 29) act race 6 puck solid clutch and pp 30)t2 starter 31)88 t2 frount cover 32)88 water pump 33)88 omp and lines 34)mazdatrix 3" dp 35)made a race turn down for the dp wich was cool 36)mazdatrix anti rear stear bushings 37)prothain uritain full bushings, couldnt use as it was a kit for an s4 and there was very limited with what i could use. 38)ordered 750cc injectors for the secondary rail 39)installed the turbo drive line. 40)wired up the wolf,removed all emissions and blocked off everything. 41)more autometer ultra light gauges, boost, water temp, volt, prostock tach, egt, 42)sx boost dependant fpr 1:1 43) 88 fuel rail on the secondary side with -an fittings 44)started to tune, never really finished 45)ordered 1200 cc injectors and k2 rail ,fal twin slim line fans 46)moved the 750 to the primary side and the 1200cc to secondary with the k2 rail 47)started to tune again. got it runin but open dp so never drove. too loud 48)t64 turbo time 49)hks cast manifold 50)innovative 42mm progate 51)custom made frount mount,,,,,, so i could finaly put the hood back on 52)s5 na tb adapter 53) i custom made 3.5 inch dp 54)i made custom turbo ic piping 55)greddy type r bov 56)fired up car, blew turbo, was a used unit to start 57)sent turbo to majestic turbo 58)got back the custom hx51/t64 hybrid 59)greddy oil catch can 60)blew out the seals in the turbo. no block venting, my bad 61)sent turbo back to majestic and had it worked over again. 62)made the 3.5" exhaust with a borla xr-1 and dynomax bullet. 63)started car , this time vented the block. but smoke smoke smoke, had a quart of oil in the exhaust from the turbo problem. 64) oil removel from the exhaust 65)jic fla t2 suspention 66)racingbeat sway bars 67)mazdatrix sway bar ball links 68)set ride hight. 69)koyo rad 70)fal fantom red fan 71) k2 rear camber link 72)rear brake pads 73)started to tune again! 74)took to the track but had a waist gate failure do to the oil, it was stuck shut so was hitting 25psi of boost @ 6000 rpm so didnt want to run it. 75)cleaned the waist gate , now worked properly 76) removed the boost controler, have a 12 psi spring , now gettin solid 10 psi no creeps or spikes. 77)coolent leak. 78) found coolent leak from the bac hose off the block, fixed 79) for some reason i lost the map in the ecu so needed to start all over. 80)innovate lm-1 wide band o2 81) got the car tuned but no where near as good as it was, ran rather rich found idle was ****** messed up and under load was at a 9.7 ar , i knew the car was falling on its face but damn. 82)tuned the car for cruzing and daily driving. 83) buggs worked out went to the track 84)ran a 13.4@104 with only 10 psi @ a 9.4 ar again the car fell on its face and wanted to flood at the end of the 1320. ran 3 times got all 13.4 passes. not bad but no where near what it should have been. 85)drove the car at night finally and well due to the highly untuned ecu the turbo was so ****** hot it was orange, also oil temps where reaching 240deg under boost. not good 86)thought what i could do with my time in the winter. lets freashin up the t2 motor with a port. and new seals. 87) tore the motor down, motor looked new on the inside with no miles on it it was that clean, however 2 oil control rings had some pitting. 88) started porting, frount iron broke into the water jacket, iron junk 89) center iron goin smooth till the die grinder took a **** and i fucked this iron up when the carbied bit rolled up the face of the iron into the water seal. 90) **** finding good irons, i ordered a 13b re cosmo' 91)wolf 3d 4.0 and also alex blackson 2mm seals 92)tore down the cosmo 93) ported the cosmo irons, mild street 94) ported the s5 rotor housings , race port' 95)painted the motor parts after a full clean up 96)assembled motor 97)ported the lim 98)act street light flywheel 99)waiting on the boshe coils and kg rails 100) dropped the motor/trans into the car 101) still waiting on coils and rails 102)fd ignitor 103) mazdatrix short shifter 104) mazdaspeed rx-8 shift knob 105) still waiting on rails and coils 106) started wiring. now in the meain time some where near the frount mount i moved the battery to the inside of the car and did alot of ****** around with radio stuff and decided that i like no radio or just something simple. and yes im still waiting for the coils and rails. there have been other things i have done like port the s5 intake manifolds and what not but i didnt want to list that. so i hope this enlightens all of you on what i have been up to with this car and for anyone who personaly knows me this is why i have no social life haahahah and where all my money goes. so hopfully i can say i am done with this thing this year and just mainly drive it, assuming i get them damn coils and rails! |
so whats the horsepower goal at 18 psi? and exactly what turbo is that? still the hx51/t64?

I also have an hx51 I believe thats what I have in my rx7. The motor has an Ito port and I am going with a 3.5 inch downpipe. This was the combo in my rx2, but my rx7 is almost complete. I guess the rx2 will just have to settle with a 20b. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

well got my coils and rails finally. and i am now working on the wiring. ill post pics tonight of my hack job wireing.
up next will be pluming and ill probly have to ream out the kg rails as the fuel openings are just a bit small, no biggy. but other then the plumming and wiring i just need to design and make the new tb adapter and tb side of the intercooler piping. so soon soon soon this beast will fire up. crossing fingers as i type. |

yes i am still running power steering. i need to repaint the braket as it is not the same color red. its fun trying to run a 3 inch ic pipe around the ps pump.

well finally got everything laid out in the engine bay, unfortunatly i could not motor mount the coils due to the iac but atleast the frount of the engine bay will be cleaned up better. note i need to finish the wiring to the ignitor and coils then loom all the harnesses. so if anyonestill reads this thread here are some freash pics. exuse the mess.

ok its been a few weeks since i started on this project. here is where its at today.
the motor is in and bolted in the trans and shifter is in but im goin to need to take the trans out to find out why i cannot bolt up the slave. the wolf is 97% wired just need to run the 12v switch wires to the relays and yes i do run alot of relays, seams to work for me. i got the rails in and started the pluming and started to finish the ports on the intake manifold. things i have to do yet, finish the plumming, i bought the fittings but the ones i got wont work as well as i need so its back to pegusis racing for more fittings i ordered the lm-1 auto box to go along with the lm-1 wide band as a full data logging system, i like info and the dyno shops around here SUCK! i still need a tb adapter so i can finish up the ic piping so if anyone has a spare for a re motor that is 3"id hit me up i also need to rewire some of the guages and weld a new rear muffler as i am trying to quiet this beast down, with 3.5" piping from the turbo all the way back its quiet loud. and lastly with the amount of hp the last set up had and not breaking in the diff properly i need to rework the rear end as the pinion back lash is far too great and i will burn up a ring and pinion if i do not give a lil attention to it. things i am also lookin at doin is making a steal hood(because i have a spare) lighten it up and copy the opening of the panspeed hood but make it alittle more agressive at the same time remove all extra weight from the heavy bitch. one last thing if anyone still reads this does anyone know what the max width of tire i can run on a 8"wide rim? i was thinkin 225/45r17 frount and 255/40r17 rear, there is only 1/16" differance in overall diam so would a 255 if and look right? |
