Hey guys, I need some help! I have a s5 TII. Well one night Me and UniqueTII put on my downpipe and midpipe and I was driving home when I decided to get on it and see what she's got! Well I red lined 4 gears and she was screaming but then she started running really bad!

She will start and idle but there is no power and it smells like it's running on pure fuel with plenty to spare. My gas milage is like 5mpg now. And it sound kinda funny when its running. We thought it might be an ecu problem. What do y'all think? She also spits flames like crazy and backfires.

Me and unique tii replaced ALL the vacum lines even took off the uim and replaced that gasket. NOTHING!?!?!? Can you help?

also we checked the tid and intercooler and all of those. The turbo spools just fine as well. ODD!

Sounds like a blown engine syndrone. Happens especially after putting a huge downpipe and no fuel upgrades.

Sorry for giving you such a hard reply but it sounds like blown. Does it just idle like blah blah blah, do a compression test.

well it idles pretty good, no help needed to keep it running. i'm not too sure how to do a compressing test on a rotary, can I use a standard tester? Or is there a special rotary tester?

You can do a crude test, take a trailing spark plug out and see if you hear even compression.

Do one rotor at time with the help of someone else. You can use your finger to plug the hole, your finger should feel pressure hard, to hear and feel the pulsation.

You are first checking for even pulsations, if you don't have even pulsationg or no pulsations at all, is blown.

Look at the spark plugs too. IF the rotor doesn't have compression and the sparkplug is black from that chamber, is blown.

yeah that sounds like what happened when i blew my engine in my old TII. revved out 3 gears on the drag strip then let off the gas it died and never started again LOL

you can use a regular compression tester just take out the little shrader valve but the po man's compression test works good too

Sure, just have to hold the bleed button down and watch the bounces. As long as it had the right thread for the spark plug hole too.
