ok i have a few problems since my swap. i did half of the swap, pedals, gauges, clutch master and had a shop do the heavy stuff like the actual trans, diff, and the clutch. these are the problems i have

the reverse lights dont work, i havent verified that the wiring is correct bc its really hot outside but the guy from the shop is positive that it is. (he knows what hes doing he swapped his fd) he says its either both bulbs or the reverse switch on the transmission, i think its highly unlikely that both bulbs burnt out so im not really even considering that one.

about a week after i got the car back the meter fuse blew. i replaced it and then it ran for a few minutes and then blew again. it wont stop blowing so theres a problem somewhere. i looked at the fsm and it says that the meter fuse also controls the reverse lights. could a bad reverse switch cause that fuse to blow? another guess i have for this is the tach. i had 2 clusters, mine and the one from the parts car, and i just opened them up and took the tach from the manual one and put it in my auto one. could that alone cause the problem?

the cruise doesnt work and didnt even when the meter fuse wasnt blown

i had idle surging before the swap but now its a lot worse. it even surges a little bit if i rev it to a higher rpm (like if i hold it at 3k it will surge between 2900 and 3100 or so) would this still just be the tps or is there something else that needs to change since the car kinda thinks its an auto.

thanks

There is a firewall to tranny/engine block ground that probably didn't get put back, or is too lose to be effective, this might help part of your problem. As you know grounding everything well is very important.

to eliminate the cluster, id put your speedo in the other cluster and see if that does anything, kinda doubt it.

2. both bulbs can be blown, thats an easy check

if the meter fuse blows that means that there is a short to ground somewhere, and the only things that changed are the things on the trans....

the switch can fail, never seen one fail shorted, but it could happen.
