OK I had the K&N intake on my vert... what do you guys suggest for the 10th AE.
Adapter plate and cone filter.
Yea that's what I had on the vert, K&N adapter deal what not...
It's the best way to go, especially for the price. RD and I are working on a cold air setup, but we're kind of stalled right now, because I am broke. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
Yea I want to do a coldair setup of some sort, what are you figuring it will cost you to make? Wish I still had access to a machine shop for free :(
It depends on the setup, I guess. We are probably going to build something fiberglass and put it either in the stock location or down where the windshield washer fluid resevoir is. I think for right now I am just going to move the filter down where the resevoir was and use PVC to plumb it, with flexible drain pipe to get the air. Eventually, I'd like all metal piping, but that'll have to wait.
electric supercharger -_-
I already have forced induction, but thanks for the suggestion.
i'm not a big fan of cold air intakes
I heard...why not?
For T2s, the best bet is a cone filter w/ 3" TID...will gain ya about 2psi w/ free flowing exhaust(or so I've heard). I'm probably gonna run my filter in front of the radiator if I have room after the FMIC is installed.

******* a- right, why bother I say. I guess if you molest the car enough, you might gain 15 horsepower or so, then if you remove everything from the car that makes it drive nicely, makes it confortable inside, you might lose about 100 pounds, after all that the car will fly for sure! I say best mods for the money: change gear ratios, going to a 4.30 ratio will FEEL like you added 50 horsepower or so, or like Vosco said- a FMIC. And on a TII- exaust. |

$209.00 is a little much for an intake, I don't think you will get $209 worth of performance.
you can make your own TID for like $50
I have a cone filter, exhaust, blah blah blah. I just don't like the fact that the bottom of my cone filter gets really hot.
your cone filter gets hot ? wait you have the hks one. maybe try the k&n ?
I scrapped the HKS one and put a regular cone filter on there. Only the bottom of it gets hot, so I might just make some sort of heat shield, but I'd still like to get some fresh air into there.
Get a front mount intercooler, then make an airbox up where the stock intercooler is. LOL
I thought about doing that a few times.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Just cant figure out what to do about if it rains real bad.. :-p
That wouldn't pull in much air...not nearly as much as something in the front opening or where the brake ducts are.
Not real sure what it's going to cost as of yet, not a heck of a lot really.
It's going to be jerry rigged to all heck but if it works we will do a better job on the next one. Wish I had a welder. AH well. |
**** man you want a turbo and a welder... you really are asking too much.
Heheheh. Welder is a heck of a lot cheaper. Hey maybe I could build my own turbo!
Get away from me with those funny jackets with the long sleeves! I'm FINE |

nah its for a 92-95 honda civic/del sol/integra, i just hacked about 4 inches off the end of it so it would fit and use a 3 inch wide piece of the old intake(the smooth part inside not the rippled part) and bolted it on, i think its a lot nicer than the stock pipe,i know it helps too, and there isnt any nasty honda canny noise some people dont like (i like the canny noise though) but it works.later
its called the alan parsens project......mu ha ha ha ha ha haha |
interesting set up...I just have an HKS super mega flow intake set up...works fine for me
