Ok I'm sitting here with the damn port sleeves cleaned and ready and I realize I have to remove the shaft from the sleeve in order to push the insert all the way in from the front. Is that right? It has to be because the insert won't just drop in the sleeve opening (port end). So how do I get the actuator shaft thing out of the sleeve safely? It doesn't look like its meant to come out EVER. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

It just taps out. Use a small screw driver or dull nail, something that will fit in the hole, and then tap it out with a hammer. I wrapped a cloth around mine and stuck it in a vice, made it a bit easier. Don't forget to drop some red loctite in the sleeves before you press in the inserts. You also might want to cover the outside of the sleeves with some oil or marvel mystery oil or something to help them slide back in a bit better. Mine had a bit of crap in the runners from having the sleeves removed, so I don't know what yours are like.

I cleaned the ports before intalling the sleeves back in. Let you lock tight set up before you install. Would not want the sleeves to stick.

Thanks guys... I should have just sent them to Pineapple. I'm concerned about bending the sleeve even the slightest bit while its in the vise. I want to make sure they stay perfectly round so they don't stick or bind in the ports.

Well I just used the vice so they weren't rolling around while I was tapping them out. I didn't really clamp them in it, I just closed the vice so it was a little smaller than the sleeve and set the sleeve on top of the vice. wrapping a rag around it kept it from getting damaged. The little bars should come out with light tapping.

I used a screw driver, hammer, and socket for support

just keep in mind that there's a fat end and a skinny end to that shaft...I poked out the wrong end, then had to hammer it back through the other way
