What is the easiest place to run the wire to the 02 sensor from. I cant seem to find any holes in the passenger side fire wall becuase of all the **** in the way. Is there a easy place to get to om the drivers side?

j9fd3s 03-12-2003 11:11 AM

the o2 wire goes into the ecu, it would be easier to get it there

most guages come with their own senders

yeah, you might want to consider getting the FC3S oil pedestal or RB oil adapter plate which have holes tapped for new senders. The AF guage just has a wire that you tap into the ECU location or the O2 sensor wire which runs under the upper intake manifold to the sensor itself.

run what you want where the wires come in the firewall on the passenger side.

Look under the sub zero bottle and you will see the wires go thru a black boot into the car, take something like a screwdriver and push the boot down and you will expose PLENTY of extra room where you can run what you want into

the car. If you have a flashlight/droplight position it on the passenger side floor shining towards the firewall so when you push the boot to the side you will see the light coming thru.

Now you can either protect the wires with some tape or a piece of vacuum hose that go thru that hole, or you can get really crafty and cut a small section out of that rubber boot and run your stuff thru there. I seem to remember having to take the glove box out to find where they came thru into the car, but I cant be positive about that.

I even ran the wires for my amp for my subwoofer in the same spot on my Lexus, beats drilling a hole and using a grommet.

I seem to remember there being a issue with those FC3s pedestals, someone on this board installed it and had some issues with it.

The MazdaTrix one is perfect and painfree to install. Although a stubby 10mm GearWrench comes in handy.

There is no need for a gear wrench. Those are for the efficient. There also isn't really a need for an A/F gauge in an NA.

yeah me, lol... the holes were not drilled perfect so getting the stock pedestal bolts to line up was a hassle. Its been on now for a while and its fine though.

Yeah i had found that earlier and tryed to use it but i cant get to the hole from inside the car and when i try and run a line into the car to pull it out with i cant find the line i ran in. I got the glove box removed. I can do everything else but this running new wire **** sucks ass.

Why don't you just tap into the wire at the ECU?

Seppuku 03-13-2003 01:49 PM

I dont know which wire it is. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png I dont have a manual that shows it.

in the future try sticking a wire coat hanger in the hole and looking for it in the passenger compartment, its easier to spot and you can also hook the wire you need to run onto it and pull it thru. This is assuming you dont have use of a snake.

The guy bought the gauge already, he wants it mainly for looks, leave him be https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Im going to buy 13bace a set of GearWrenches so he can see how much nicer it makes life, lol.

I have a set of gear wrenches. I just never remember that I have them until I'm done with a job.

Rob x-7 03-13-2003 05:42 PM

you also use your chest as a tranny jack, the normal rules dont

apply to you

Rob x-7 03-13-2003 06:25 PM

throw it in the back of the car, you have a coupe now, lol
