I thought I saw something on the forum a while ago, tried a search and got nothing, so I'm posting.

Been looking at them for a while now and wondering if anybody has gotten one. I've been thinking about doing a P-port, but if I can do a hella bridge with a goog manifold and TB setup, it could be easier, cheaper, and more drivable. They look realy nice and like they would do the job. The 55mm would flow enough air. They flow 691 square mm. That should be plenty.

Just wondering and any feedback would be great.

I think pengaru is using something like that. Just wait for him to post.

I'm running TWM DCOE similar setup:

It's spiffy, but no serious driving performed yet.... they work though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

www.twminduction.com sells the throttle body and air horns... the rest is pieced together by yours truely.

theres probably well over $1000 in the intake. I want to say the TWM stuff including the horns was around $700. It's not bolt-on, there is some fabrication of custom parts required, and you need to obtain the hardware yourself, the TWM doesng come with any nuts or bolts other than the two bolts for the TPS.

The IDA sells for $575 on ebay and they also offer alot of different options for it. It also includes the horns, fuel rails, and throttle linkage and braket.

well thats cool, you should give it a try. You need more than just the TB and fuel rails etc. You'll need a IDA manifold if it's a IDA format. You also need injectors if you don't have enough already, and a TPS that will bolt onto that thing... and air filtration needs to be dealt with. Don't forget this setup will need a speed/density ECU, so you'd need a haltech or electromotive whatever.

roadkill669 09-08-2003 10:28 AM

Who ever this person is on ebay offers alot of stuff. Here is a link to an old auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2428747307

no one ever buys it so I don't know what it will do. I can buy it all from him, but the ems will be a microtech.

I hope it will work well, I think that I will do it.

pengaru 09-08-2003 10:28 AM

I shouldnt have said you need injectors if you don't have enough, you will need injectors if the injector style on the TB is different than the ones you already have. Like with the TWM the TB is machined for bosch injectors, the FC stock has nippon denso, so I bought bosch ones for the TWM. Injectors are not cheap! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

roadkill669 09-08-2003 10:33 AM

They are machined for bosch, but I have 4 already. I just don't know about the sizes. I've got 2 500 and 2 720. That should be enough for now. Plus I won't be boosting alot for a while, so it should be a start.

ah then you also need to add in an air box for the turbo, plus a front mount and the piping.

roadkill669 09-08-2003 11:02 AM

Just another reason to get a front mount. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

pengaru 09-08-2003 11:06 AM

being turbo it's going to involve quite a bit more fabrication than my setup did. Good luck if you decide to do it.

roadkill669 09-08-2003 11:12 AM

Thanks man. you've been a great help. I think I will try it. This whole thing started when I did some research on the 787B with its variable length manifold. Also, my girlfriends car, a 95 Eagle Summit, they offer a quad throttle body that with that, an EMS, fuel pump, and larger injectors, gained 120 HP. I thought that was incredible. plus, this is a little 1.5L 4 cylinder SOHC with over 200 HP NA!!! So these things have to be able to do something on a 1.3L https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Downing mazda's use that setup, but with 68mm throats. I saw the car run this weekend at the glen. It screamed quite well.

Well, the 2 rotor Argo- Mazda was. But the 4 rotor Kudzu-mazda appeared to be "side port"

I was downloading the pics and the batteries died in the camera. i'm charging them now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

I hate it when that happens. Especially considering most of the time the camera COULD be using the power available on the communications port it's connected to the computer with. Serial and USB both are capable of providing sufficient power for a digital camera, fuckers, it should ALWAYS be able to function when it's into the PC plugged into the wall, GRRR

Apex13B 09-08-2003 07:27 PM

i need an AC adapter...but its 30 bucks

75 Repu 09-08-2003 07:27 PM

Hurry up damnit.. haha.. Just kiddin. well.. That looks like an interesting setup.. does the engine have to be Peri ported to make good power off of that IDA setup or will it do pretty well with a large street port..

pengaru 09-08-2003 07:30 PM

It should work well either way, especially for high rpm. You just need to get properly sized bores (AKA throats) for your application, and you can fine tune further with the length of the horns.

Apex13B 09-08-2003 07:34 PM

i'd also say that is not good for turbo setups. your are better off with a surgetank/sheetmetal box with a 65mm throttle

yah people have been running the carbed version for years, on anything from a stock 12a to a pp13b
