I left publix and I was going back home I felt excited and did a short run 1st 7K 2nd 7K and 3rd 7K I got home parked the car came back about 15 min later and turned on the car and it would not hold idel. It still has great power just like when I came back from publix but wont hold idel. to maintain a lumpy ass idel at around 800 I had to open the idel screw all the way up and close the TPS screw almost 3/4 way down what gives?
I think im going to take this opportunity to put on my modded throttel bodie that is ready to go. |
Yea thats usually a good indicator, do a compression test to confirm..

it still hauls ass are you serious it could be going? damn I dont have the $3000 dollars to get a new motor And I just got the titel for her to. if I buy a J spec turbo motor and put it with my stock sport drive line If I dont run it hard will it last? I need a cheap alternative to get my car running if in fact the motor is going.

it holds idel at around 600-800 fluctuating sometimes it stays perfect on 600 but stutering man oh man I hope its not the motor.
I will tell you one thing I put on my modded TB and it smoothed out mabey 5% more than it was. But man I can feel the little extra pull! I am getting 65 mph in second gear without the 5th&6th ports working. The motor stills feels strong but it is the idle that is fucked up. man does it run good. |
sounds like vaccum
|
Damit Jim im a doctor not a vacume leak. I got startin fuid and sprayed the crap all over the enging and to my dismay no luck. Im going to tear it apart this weekend.

Doesnt cost much to do either...Its just time consuming. |
What about hooking up a gauge to see if vacuum is the problem?
|
I also second a vac leak.. get it check out... sometimes these things happen, vac lines just pop off every once in a while.. and it SUCKs!
-Markus "Reminds me of when i had to replace my motor.... $1100 :-) of course, that's an N/a motor... |
