I was waiting at a light, the light turned green and I proceeded to leave the light. When I got the clutch half way out, there was a bang and jerk of the car. I thought ( and was hoping) that it was the U-Joint that gave way and the drivshaft was hanging. So I put the car in first and left the light again. The car moved forward, but had not power and souded like it was running on only one rotor. I was able to move it a quarter of a mile to the gas station, popped the hood and looked at the motor. It held a really rough and low idle, but it was not leaking anything oto the ground. For those of you that have blown the motors, does this sound like it is blown? I really think that it threw an apex seal.

compression check is the only way to know for sure

I am going to do a poor mans compression check tomorrow. Thanks.

if it held idle it might not be the motor. when mine went i couldn't keep it running without giving it gas constantly.

Well, I had to give it gas, but it sounded like it was only running on one rotor. I had to drive it from the light to the gas station which was about 150 yards. The car had no power what so ever, and had a rough idle. I am going to check the compression tomorrow to make sure that it is the motor and not an electrical problem. But I heard a loud bang, and the car bucked severly. I am going to check this tomorrow because I am finally done with school exams and have a chance to work on my car.

good luck. It'd be nice if it was electrical, but it sounds mechanical.
