My friend just bought an 87 sport for $150, with no title, we have to fight to get that back, the thing that sucks though, is that i think i lost the only key to it.

Is there a number written on one of the lock cylinders that i can use to have mazda make a new key? I knew i could do that with a toyota.

Or do i just need to take the trunk lock to a lock smith.

trunk lock to the locksmith, takes less then 5 minutes to get the lock out, locksmith should charge about $25 to make it with 2 keys.

Use a slide hammer with a dry wall screw in it....sit in the passenger seat, screw it into the ignition, then slide the weight back, the key lock cylinder should just pull right out and you can use a flat head screwdriver to turn the ignition switch.....but if anyone asks I didn't tell you that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.gif

I have the same problem with my convertible, I only had one key and lost it. I just asked the parts desk at the local dealership, they told me to bring them the title and registration, they'd give me a number I could take to a locksmith, and they'd make me a key.

In the process of buying my TII, my friend locked the only key in the car. I was like "Oh, ****!", then I tried the key for my 626 and it opened the door.

An ounce of C4 and some det-cord well placed on the rear hatch works like a charm....But if anyone asks, I didnt tell you that.

Could someone PM me the details on starting the car with no key, in a way that won't damage anything? I want to work on the car tomorrow, including the fuel system, setting the FPR, and maybe starting it. I'm not sure if I can get to a locksmith between now and then. I'll eventually get keys made, just not at the moment.

Baldy 10-13-2007 02:11 AM

Got it, thanks!
