I skipped the rest of the post but in answer to the "why is the scoop to the side?" question.... Its cause they wanted it (and the intercooler) away from being over the turbo. If you look at alot of TII's with original or even just old paint you will notice the funky oxydation looking marks to the left of the scoop. Its caused by heat.
