I'm not good with this fitting ****, so anyone with experience please let me know. I am looking at a mechanical oil gauge, 1/4npt, and the stock sender thread size is 1/8npt.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

you shoulda got the right gauge in the first place https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

just go to the hardware store, they usually carry NPT adapters, they sometimes label the bins as MPT/FPT, which is male/female... what you'll need is:

1/4 FPT to 1/8 MPT if they label it that way, or just make sure the sexes are right when you buy it, it's a simple every day NPT adapter.

thats not true, I have a northern tool catalog in front of me, the 1.5 inch liquid filled gauges have 1/8 NPT fitting, the larger ones (2.5 inch) are 1/4 NPT.

53656-C176 is the part # for a 1.5 inch 0-160

53655-C176 is the part # for the 1.5 inch 0-100

Yes, with NPT you're supposed to use teflon tape, permatex makes a teflon paste that works well, it smells yummy too... either one will be fine.

naw dude, read the error message it says when you paste the # with the dash in it:

Only include the digits before the dash. For example, if you are searching foritem# 157754-C174 enter only 157754 into the search field.

you just removed the hyphen https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png only enter the #'s before the hyphen... I just searched for it on the site and it came up fine...
