Hey I just bought new rims for my 1987 NA, they are 17" but have no tires. What size of tires do i need? I was thinking about 215/45/17 What is the largest I could go without a collision with my fender. LOL this is going to be a HUGE change from 14"!!!!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Those SHOULD fit but not 100% sure. I know people put 245's on their cars.

Bueller??

Thanks for the reply but Im really concerned about the thickness of the tire,

205/45/17 <----- The 45 in this discription, I think that 45 is for 16". Im guessing that 40 series is good for 17" But im note sure

I have 205/40/17's and I don't like them, they look like rubber bands and the ride is too rough.. I'd go with 215/45/17's next time and maybe 225 or 235 in the back

Without knowing the width and offset of your wheels, it's hard to say.

Post that info and then we'll go from there.

They would be an exact match to the Vert tires (24.6 inches), but don't the Verts have smaller tires than the coupes? Verts are 205x60x15 stock.

Assuming you have 40mm offset (probably get away with +-5mm) you'll be fine as far as fitment.

I have a +40 offset, according to several internet sites 17" with +40 offset is correct but they dont mention anything about the tires. Would a 45 series be ok? The 40 series are just bloody expensive!

215/45/17 would be the best with out any rub. dont go 40 its to skinky and will ride much different. 215 is widest without rub on front. but u could go wider on the rear if u dont car about rotating the tires cuz when u rotate u'd have to get new tires

Thanks for the reply
