so i was sitting in traffic in melborn fl and some dumb girl decides she dosent want to stop, so in short terms she hits the car behind me and then i get smashed into the car in front of me. but the reason im posting is im pretty sure the insurance company will total my car because its got a low blue book. alls thats wrong is both bumpers are damaged and cracked both tail lights are chiped, the licsence plate holder is broke and the hood buckeled up about 3/4 of an inch, aslo it moved my exhaust. im pissed because i was planning on selling the car later this year and its probly still going to get sold but my friend said to post to ask to sell it the way it is or fix it then sell it. its a 1990 RX-7 GXL with 171,000 miles, straight pipe exhaust to a monza catback, tein he coil overs, all emissions removed, rev type 11 gold rims, alpine cd player and infinity kappa 3 way 6 1/2 speakers in the rear, rear camber links from awr and new stainless oil cooler lines, drive shaft and tranny mounts. im just wondering if its worth fixing or just selling as is for like 2500-2000$ im not sure, imput would be nice
thanks tommy |
hmm doubt youd get 2500 for it wrecked lol, pics?

i donno the mods on the car are worth quite abit the rims and coilovers are woth about 1700 alone
|
Yea there are some serious morons down here.
I would just fix it and hold on to it. |
yeah but mods on a wrecked car are just that... lol
|
drive in the bike lane from now on

Take the money & get a nice body kit.
With a DIY install & some forum & e-bay parts, you should have enough left for a paint job. |
thats what i was thinking, i like the bomex kit and its not too expensive and plus i work with fiber glass for a living so im pretty sure i can do what i need to, i ve done body work and sanding and all that good stuff
parts are worth **** unless theyre sold as.... parts. once on a car their value deteriorates rapidly, and it generally barely helps the value of a vehicle, if it doesnt hurt the value completely. kevin. |
Mine looks better after the crash than it did before.

well if they do total the car suposevly i cant buy it back so ill just remover all the good stuff and replace it with the factory stuff. also dose any one know about floridas insurance stuff, i was told that if they total it i can buy it back for 20% of the blue book but i ve also been told that i have to out bid the salvege yards offer, my insurance company told me that once they total it theirs no way of buying it back, but they're not the ones covering it, the girl who caused the accident's insurance is. do insurance companys have different policies on this or am i going to have to rip parts off my car.
|
another thing who is the check maid out to for the repairs, me or the shop, if they dont total it?
|
i live in florida too and i recently had a close call with damn florida drivers too they just pull out and stop in front of you or in your case hiting you in the back when you cant do nothing i had to avoid somebody by going into the grass, across a parking lot then finally slid to a stop luckly no trees or stuff like that was in my way damn florida drivers i am goin on strike!

Northern Jersey aint that bad, at least the assholes on the road are obvious, and its predictable what the assholes out there are gonna do. You just have to stay on top of things.
