For a long time, I've had a racing beat header and presilencer, with the stock catback. It sounded horrible. I finally bit the bullet and bought a magnaflow muffler, stainless steel, 7" round with 2.5" in/out, straight-through design. Yesterday, I had a shop weld it up with 2.5" piping from presilencer to muffler. I sounds much better, a whole lot less rattly/buzzy, and it shoots flames now. It isn't any louder or softer than the previous setup, but it's a deeper tone.
Flames are fun, especially at night. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
Oh, and I'm pretty sure the butt dyno is telling me there's been an improvement in performance.
I also had them move the back pressure tube to before the presilencer, but the aux. ports still aren't activating. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png I think I'm gonna wire them open and see how it goes, before I explore other options. |
Not to sabotage this thread but when you say you will wire open the ports, do you just wire the actuators so the plunger stays down or do you wire something else? May be a stupid question.

If I don't like the way it turns out, I'll just undo it and find a way to make them work correctly. |
