my car idles (and holds)at a pulsation 650-900rpms.
I did the LCD tps thing still not much difference. The problem was a combo of bad hoses a cracked gasket but the major problem was at the primary injectors the O rings and Gromments where all in bad shape. now whenever I take a hard turn or put in reverse my car chokes out or idles dangerously low . this also happens when my I press down on the clutch and brakes while in a turn. I know this sounds like a bad BAC valve but it is not! I have two and both are good. also I think this car has it's own custom made power steering pump. The previous owner had one made for her. and I think thats why my car orginial idled at 1000-12 rpms I'm going to follow up and check out secoundary injectors. I not expection a complete and ominous solution from anyone here. just some clues or a point in the right direction. This car is driving me up the wall and I need some ideas. 86 GXL |
i think you're on the right track, but you should look at the backup switch, i'm not sure but the ecu might get that signal too

I managed to take it to a shop and one of the guys told me he adjusted the BAC valve. also he said if the problem remained he said I may need a new IAC switch. (I have no idea what a IAC switch is) it works alittle better now. the idle doesn't bouce as much but it still chokes out on hard turn but not as often. I'm I running in circles here or what? |
chokes on a hard turn?

bad afm maybe? the afm door is affected by gravity....
could also be a clogged fuel pump filter/sock my 91 had stalagmites growing from the fuel pump assembly..... or is that stalagtites? |
I believe that would be stalactites. Carry on.

Mechanics around here keep refering to a IAC (idle air control valve) which I belive is the BAC valve I looked in my haynes manual and found nothing about it. I'm I wrong on this one? I don't know what AFM means ok I'll check out the fuel pump and swap out the O rings and grommets in the secondary injectors thx again |
