I found a place that makes custom hydrolic hoses near by and got that fixed. My idle is really bad. Could it be b/c of the poor compression? I have terrible throttle response, it doesn't idle on it's own, and if you get more than like 30% throttle than it starts to make sputtering sounds and the power drops. I haven't looked at the timing yet, though. It was pretty close to right though when I checked it after installing the engine. Any thoughs?
I cleaned my car real nice. Tomorrow I'll wax it real nice and then take some pics! |
Check the timing and make sure the CAG is indexed correctly.
You also mentioned poor compression https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png didn't you just rebuild the motor? |
Yep. Not more than 25 miles on the engine yet.

Have you changed your plugs? You might have fouled plugs. You might also be running too rich. Does it puff out black smoke when it starts to sputter? If it does then you are running to rich. Also check to see if you are getting spark from all the coils and all of your plug wires are going to the correct plug.

OK, I'll do that but is it normal for a rebuilt engine to idle like **** for the first couple miles?
|
how much vacuum does it have at idle?
|
The gauge goes down a little past 0 but I always tap the gas to keep it running so I can't really tell. I'm probably gonna do a big look over today. I've got no school!!!

yeehaw, let me know if you want some help, it's always a pleasure to play with a FC in a decent garage https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
