yo, I have this problem. Around 4000 rpm my car acts like it has a v-tech, I talked to Dave at kd rotary and he showed me a valve I should clean out with gumm cutter. The only problrm with that is he showed me on a T2, in my n/a car it is in another place "WHERE IS IT?". Can anyone help me out?

What is it doing? Acting like a v-tech just doesn't cut it for a description of your problem. Oh yeah, what year is your 7? Was he talking about your VDI? Or maybe your secondairy ports?

It,s a 87 GXL. It has a power burst at 4,000 rpm. Not sure what valve he said but it needs to be cleaned, the only way to make it run better is to run high test fule.

Was it your secondary ports he was talking about? They should open up around 3,800 - 4,000 rpm.

I doubt its the secondaries. TII have a 4 port, I didnt know they had Secondary ports. Then again i could be wrong.

The car seems to have a power surge at around 4000. I dont see a problem there. Unless you mean that it runs very sluggish before it hits 4K.

Ya, it dose run slugish before 4,000. I bought one of those chilton books, but they don't tell me anything. Like he said, it's nothing broken, it's somthing that just needs to be cleaned. So that leads me to bielive it's somthing with the intake "some whare". I see the fule rail under the upper intake, and there's somthing under the lower intake with a white cap. Some sort of regulator or somthing it looks like. I don't want to rip anything appart yet to see what is in there because i'm not to fimilar with the motor yet.

Oh ya, he also told me what he showed me on the t2 looked difrent than what was on my car. And the thing with the white cap has a single vaccume line coming off of it
