so i did the tb mod yesterday and today after a dremel bit shopping spree (all my old metal bits were shot, so i spent $48 on new pieces) i began. i got a couple pics.



here's the only one i took of it as a stock TB as far as porting goes, its a reference pic to see what ive done.

that was all done with a barrel cutting bit, next is the ball cutting bit, then a 60 grit sand drum, then a 120 grit sand drum, and finally an abrasive bit to polish it, then probably some compound and a felt wheel to completely polish the biznitchshablamzoid.

looking pretty good, glad to see you took this up yourself. Looking forward to seeing the final result.

also i covered the holes with .5" core/freeze plugs set in place with a permanent sealer on them, they fit the .51" opening perfectly snug and will not budge.



i tapped them into the shoulder area that holds the brass pieces for the flapper bar from entering the tb then ground around the shoulder area, i'll be filling with por15 into a dimple shape and then regrinding it down smooth.

honestly i HATE paying for any to do labor jobs for me, if i didnt do it myself i wouldnt have it done, its just how i am, some people prefer "the pros" do it.



i switched to the round cutting bit after those pics and damn did it do a good job, switched back to drum cutting bit and shaped everything nicely.



then for kicks i threw on the 80 grit flapper sanding bit, rounded the corners really nicely definitely gonna make airflow smooth.



one question, the edges and the point, should i make them knife edged or slightly smoothed over? i figure slightly smoothed leaves less chance of turbulence but not as much "aerodynamics".

I just did the same thing. Though i used 60 grit sand drums the entire time. That took forever they kept wearing out.
