15 is as far as you can go with the stock turbo but youll need to do fuel mods to

Turbo II 03-18-2003 04:09 PM

id leave it at stock until u refine some other aspects. what mods do u currently have?

datboyjoe08 03-18-2003 04:12 PM

umm stock motor...stock turbo...blitz super sequential bov....2.5 downpiping with upgraded dual exhaust. and thats about it...

8 psi is over the factory fuel cut (7.5psi). The factory fuel system can also safely handle a max of 10 PSI.

I'm assuming you have a boost gauge already, so here are the options for eliminating the fuel cut.

1) Fuel cut defenser, SAFC, and dyno time to make sure

2) upgraded ECU such as the one from www.elprototypes.com

3) full out programmable engine management system like a haltech, motec, electromotive, etc.

Also, if you upgrade your exhaust or intake any further, your turbo will obviously boost more, but will have a greater tendency to "boost creep".

If that happens, you'll need to pull that turbo and port out the wastegate.

Reliablity mods first off. If you're going to ask more out of your car, put something into it to take the extra load. Good fresh fluids where ever fluids can go. New hoses. Rubber or silicone will do. Either way it'll be a lot newer than the old stuff on your car. Ever do a real thorough radiator flush? Do the ATF trick lately? Try Marvels Mystery Oil instead. That stuff rocks. How are your wheel bearings? Diff? Tires? Lugs nuts (they do break after a while)? Brake pads/lines/calipers/fluid? Etc.

If you're going to be making your car faster you had better make sure it's in top notch shape. Work on making the car be able to handle the extra stress and it won't let you down. Start upgrading it forn power and it'll die.
