It is almost that time of the year for me where I can put my RX-7 back on the road since the end of September. I am having withdrawls and getting very ansy to put it on the road again. But my question is how much power am I looking at with all of the goodies I have bought over the winter. What I have done is:

-full custom intake arm w/ HKS filter

-throttle body porting and mod

-racing beat header

-high flow cat/ but most of the time it will be straight piped. Only need the cat for

putting it on the road.

-Borla cat back exhaust system

-HKS spark plugs w/ 10mm wires

-And an Apex'I S-AFC

im assuming its a n/a because of the header right??? i am also interisted in the h/p #s because this is verry simmilar to what i would like to do to my own n/a during my rebuild

What do you mean "It all depends on how you tune your S-AFC"? Yes it is an 87 N/A

Mileage and compression #s? 130rwhp.

110,000 miles, and I dont know the compression #'s

imma go out on a limb and say 137 before you tune the safc and 155 after

how about for a s5 180-190???

That is fairly respectable I think. Anything else that I could do besides a rebuild and streetporting?

I've seen 189hp at the tire on 89-91 internals, no portwork, stock manifolds, factory ECU. This was on the shops ITS race car nearly 2 years ago.

86' N/A untouched internals. (about 13,000 miles on the clock)

RB header strait back to Borla Cat-back exhaust.

S5 intake manifold set-up. Port matched Upper-Middle-Lower

TB mod has been done. 5th/6th sleeves removed, VDI wired open.

No accessories attached to the motor for the exception of Altenator.

NO emissions equipment is left on the motor. Fuel lines have been re-routed directly to my fuel rail, bypassing the vaccum rack.

running 460cc primary, 550cc (T2) secondary injectors

Microtech LT-8 currently running on slightly modified base map.



I still have another 5-7 HP to be had from proper tuning. I just installed my microtech this weekend and dyno'd the car with the modified base map. I am quite pleased with the results 183whp / 129 lb ft.



Strange numbers i suppose but quite respectable for N/A
