I was wondering how much do you think a TII that needs new engine and some body work or something would cost?
|
That depends. You can pick one up for a few hundred with a pretty good body. I paid $2,500 for mine. '89 TII with no rust. It was a little steep but I was looking for a while and became impatient. If you have time or luck you'll find a great deal eventually. Look at 1revvin7's black TII or camel's. Bought for dirt cheap!

Oh and I forgot to mention the engine was blown on my car.

i bought my white one for $200, good paint decent body but it needed a motor and the interior was ugly
the yellow one was free, but theres no motor, trannys broken, car is bent and rusty |
2500 most likely, 1800 if you're lucky.
|
I sold mine for $1650 with a good engine, upgraded turbo, full exhaust, custom paint, and so on. It needed quite a bit of body work, though.

got mine for 550 with a bum motor... needs some help as mi winters have gotten to it

I'd say, here in the northwest, if you can find a rust free, straight frame, good interior, minor body work, blown engine TII (assuming the engine is the only weak mechanical thing), you should pay about 600-1000 for series 4 (86-88) and 1200-2000 for series 5 (89-91). That's around the going rate or at least what people end up taking around here.
Of course, sometimes you'll find a good deal or a stubborn seller and you could take a grand on either side of those estimates. Just be patient and bid low https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |

For instance, I purchased a straight 1st gen body with a large amount of excellent parts, stock and aftermarket, for $300. I've also been approached with a 2nd gen rolling race chassis that the guy wanted $3000 for. Shop around then ask specifically what a car is worth, or just offer what it's worth to you and hope for the best. |
