I want to get a lightweight flywheel for my TII but I dont know how light to go. I want to rev-up fast but dont want to loose my higher end torque. I was thinking 14-17 lbs. to keep it at least 1/2 of the org. 28lbs. Any suggestions?

What kind of driving/racing are you planning to do?

It would mostly be a daily driver but want to be able to beat on it on the weekends.

Well, a heavy flwheel would be good for drag racing because the flywheel would have more inertia for your launch. But if you plan on doing road racing/auto cross then lighter would be better. I know that the 9.5# flywheel is quite streetable, it just takes a little getting used to.

I saw the 9.5 for sale from ACT, that seems really light (almost scary). What do have and how does it effect accelerating, high speed power, etc.?

BTW I was planning on doing some autoX later on.

i like the aluminum rb flywheel, it works great, street driven ...

it will improve acceleration in the lower gears and of course how quick it revs in neutral / shifting gears. you can shift quicker too because the rpms can change quicker to match the gears.

the aluminum one is 12# right?

yep, this is the one i bought:

i've since had to change to the S5 counterweight though, new crackhead motor.
