i checked the faq, and didnt see anything about it. does anyone know how to import an fc from japan for street use? or where i can go to find out how to? i'm just curious, cos my brother is moving to japan next month and told me he would send me a fc or fd ( whichever i perferred). and i was wondering how hard it is to import the fc or fd and the costs it might incur. thanks in advance.

i know shipping it over isnt cheap. And getting it US legal isnt cheap either. Why would you want to import a car thats already sold in the US?

its basically a bunch of paper work. it will have to pass smog. it will also cost you about 5k to do.

I don't think the DOT will like that idea.
There's no real reason to ship one in since they were imported into the US in the first place. -Ted |
hmm how about import for offroad use, and put on another vin and licenseplates from a different fc or fd

Why don't you just buy a right hand drive front clip and do the conversion?!

Just swap the VINs. I don't see how you would get caught unless someone goes and tells on you. if you get pulled so what. ppl mod the hell out of their cars now adays rhd conversons are nothing. My cousin imported a fairlady to the states and drove it around virginia for ever.
