yup, i have an 89 Gtu, i want to get a set of TII front calipers. What do i need to mount them? Do they bolt right in place of the origial single piston calipers?

drftk1d 10-20-2005 07:53 PM

they should...

RONIN FC 10-20-2005 08:04 PM

They do..

The "TII" calipers have the bracket built into them. So, remove the one piston caliper bracket.

banzaitoyota 10-20-2005 09:42 PM

In order to use the TII Calipers you alsoo need TII Rotors

nismo convert 10-21-2005 12:01 AM

And pads, pins, and most importanly LINES.

RONIN FC 10-21-2005 09:39 AM

All front 5 lug rotors are the same for the FC.

are they thicker?

i didnt think that was the case

Shane.Trammell 10-21-2005 11:19 AM

i thought the S5s had the same calipers in the front?

drftk1d 10-21-2005 11:41 AM

its same calipers rear

Shane.Trammell 10-21-2005 12:05 PM

so all S5s other than the vert, tII, and gtus had singles in the front?

matts86fc3s 10-21-2005 04:30 PM

i converted my 4 lug to 5 lug and got the rotors from a convertable and replaced the stock 1 pison with the t2 four piston up front and everything just bolted right in place very nice

rx7man629 10-21-2005 06:26 PM

You dont need pins or different rotors right? My car is 5 lug.

Nope, the s5 GX/SE are smaller then the S$ gxl/TII.

drftk1d 10-22-2005 05:17 AM

what the hell is a GX

RONIN FC 10-22-2005 11:34 AM

Canadian base. It's the SE in the US, 89 to 90 they had SE's, after that they had 3 models, TII, Vert, and the GXL.

drftk1d 10-23-2005 09:59 PM

i dont think the S5 was a SE, that was S4

afaik a S5 base is a GTU

someone corect us

In Canada It was called the GX, it could have been the GTU, models vary by country.

I could only find one part # for S5 rotors. fb05-33-251.

Yeah I said that, I also stated they were smaller then the S4.

S4 and S5 4 pot calipers are the same dimentions only difference bieng different pistons. Which means the rotors are the same size(or Very, close), Only bieng one part # for S5 means all 5 lug rotors are the same size.

Unless you can show me these (canadian market?) smaller 5 lug rotors in these "S5 SE", and GX, I am left with the determination that all 5 lug rotors are the same, or close enough that brake manufacturers consider them interchangeable.

I wanna see pics, or a part #.

nismo convert 10-24-2005 04:48 PM

I have no pics, but I know for a fact, when a friend of mine, swapped s4 4 piston calipers on his car, his S5 rotors were too small.
