Did you guys just use the stock fuel rail and tap it? Just cut and weld those little feed lines? or what?

13BAce 12-04-2002 07:09 PM

If you're using the 86-88 aluminum rails then remove all of the junk on the ends and tap them with a 3/8" NPT tap. Then just get an adapter. If you're using the 89-91 steel rails then chop off the ends and weld steel male AN bungs on the ends.

fuel rail stock is cheap. Its almost easier just to mill an aluminum rail and keep your factory one.

It depends. I can drill and tap a stock rail in a few minutes, and then I'm done. The cutting and welding technique is also pretty quick. I like to stick with stock if I can to avoid leaks if I mess up.

I think I'm going to chop off the ends on my 91 primary fuel rail and weld bungs on, its that or 125+ for a custom one...hmm... broke as a joke I bes..

pengaru 03-26-2003 10:56 PM

hm thanks for the input i have to do something like this soon too, although i might just use rubber hose and AN hose barbs on the TWM fuel rail, simpler.

Suds 03-26-2003 11:19 PM

dont use rubber hose and barbs.

I ran -6an from the tank, welded on -an fittings on the primary rail, secondary rail came with them.

550/1600, fpr, walbro.

straight bungs or angled? hmmm I need to go think about my setup..

1Revvin7 03-28-2003 06:01 PM

BigTurbo74 03-29-2003 01:25 AM

yeah that backorder **** is always fun

Suds 03-29-2003 12:36 PM

I just want to use my an fittings/lines through out my entire setup, and get rid of the PD!!!!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Suds 03-29-2003 08:30 PM

-an fittings and lines are way way cleaner, i support your decision. I love not having stock lines, supports way more fuel, just a way cleaner setup, especially if you have 1600 cc injectors in the secondary.

pengaru 03-29-2003 09:09 PM

way cool of you for the way technical reasons for replacing the apparently way uncool stock fuel system.

u can get adapters that screw into the s4 fuel railes. they are m12x1.25 and m14x1.5 if i remember right. the just screw into the sotck rails and the -6 adapter screws right on

1Revvin7 03-30-2003 12:48 AM

True, and stock rails can support 500hp...

1Revvin7 04-02-2003 06:02 PM

ofcourse I bought ******* aluminum male an bungs https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif Whoops just going to wait for cash to get custom rails, for now I'm just goint to use the stock primary rail and use hose clamps..

pengaru 04-05-2003 06:34 AM

http://www.anplumbing.com/

they have a decent selection and it's alot easier for me at least to deal with than summitracing.com or jegs.com, those websites suck for finding ****, I can never find what I want.
